A Storm is on the horizon

April 1st, 2008 · 23 Comments

So, I’ve decided to stop standing idly while some imposter website tries to profit from all the hard work we’ve been doing the last year or so. I’m referring to the site which has been pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes. I’ve been consulting with several IP lawyers and they are convinced we have a strong case so watch out for some aggressive action on our part. Thanks again for your support. Things could get ugly but I’ve learned you have to nip these things in the bud. We appreciate your support during what looks to be a rough period ahead.

Seriously, that’s some bullshit but luckily we don’t sweat that) and all the sites we’re friends with like Mojo. Anyway, yeah, we rocked it! Thanks for the suggestions from all our pals!!

Weekend Predictions, March 14-16 2008

Should be a monster weekend for Horton, even though the reviews are mixed. The Ice Age and Seuss pedigrees will do the job and bring home the bacon, Vlad the Eagle be Damned. 2. 10,000 B.C. (Warner Bros.) $16.4M

Box Office Prediction for March 7-9, 2008

March 6th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Unlike certain other sites, I don’t believe that 10,000 BC will do 40m and peg it at a solid 35 or 36. Nothing compared to 300, which took this weekend last year with an incredible $70m. I think 10,000 is about half of 300– There’s some H’wood math for ya! As always, have a great weekend.
10,000 B.C.     $36m
College Road Trip     $13.5m
Vantage Point     $7m
The Bank Job     $6m
Semi-Pro     $6m
The Spiderwick Chronicles     $5m
The Other Boleyn Girl     $4m
Jumper     $3.5m
Step Up 2 the Streets     $3m
Fool’s Gold     $2.5m

Update on Perez Hilton and BOPSY

March 5th, 2008 · 2 Comments

OK so several of you emailed and asked why BOPSY hasn’t been featured on PerezHilton.com yet, even though last month we said it was going to happen soon. Don’t worry, it is going to happen AND it may be EVEN BETTER then first advertised. It looks like we might (and I stress Might!) be doing a video blog on the Perezzer’s video network about H’wood and the weekend box predictions! It’s going to be so awesome. So, hold your horses, stop emailing me, and we’ll let you know when we go live with the Perez-Love!!!

Rumor Mill

cropcircleWord on the “street” is that Leo DiCaprio is being wooed by Mark Wahlber’s production company to start in Cocaine Cowboys. Our source, who is very close to Leo, says that if the money is right, the Titanic star is onboard. He loves the project and is looking to do something edgy where he isn’t a traditional “hero”. We’re sure Leo has never tried cocaine and will have to do some heavy-duty “research” to get things “in gear” for the part.

Us vs. Them - No Contest

February 16th, 2008 · 13 Comments

So this whole Variety thing really got me worried for a second about this other BOPSy which simply adds an ’s’ to our domain name… probably hoping to capitalize on our traffic. So I had to go to the authority on this which is Alexa and I did a comparison of our two sites… I mean really there’s no comparison:

Exclusive Interview: Al Pacino

February 16th, 2008 · 3 Comments

al pacinoSo picture this: I’m sitting at Kate Mantalinis and I’m staring up at an enlarged photo they have of Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino sitting across each other at this very establishment in the movie “Heat.” My eyes follow the image down until about waitress level when I see none-other than Al himself dining alone in a booth. I think to myself, “I could do this. I’ve got loads of questions and he’s right on time for BOPSy’s exclusive interview.” Here is an excerpt of what came next:

BOPSY: Hey Al
AL: Hi
BOPSY: I’m a really big fan.
Al: I’m trying to eat a sandwich. If that’s okay with you.
BOPSY: Yeah sure. It’s fine. Just wanted to say I’m a huge fan and wanted to tell you something.
Al: Great. Thanks. Can you get off my lap please?
BOPSY: ok.
BOPSY: As a big fan and a certified psychic I have to tell you that your next film will tank.
Al: Well as a guy trying to eat in peace I’d like to say #@#*&$#!

The rest seems a little fuzzy. But honorably Al didn’t call security or anything. What a guy. Seriously.

Getting Deep. Review: Paris Hilton in: The Hottie and the Nottie (2008)

February 16th, 2008 · 6 Comments

hottie
So, Paris Hilton finally hits the bigscreen.. Well, that’s if you don’t count her first film which I’ve watched more than once on my big screen television. For one summer it was a fetish of mine, asking girls to recreate Hilton’s performance, requiring them to start over if they misspoke even a one single line of dialogue. Brunettes, Redheads they all happily played the part… They took extra pleasure in mocking the blonde heiress. but i digress.

So critics have really come down hard on this new film of hers. But Hilton’s performance is worthy of at least some praise in the sense that you can tell she’s doing her best. It is rumored that during shooting of one scene she yelled cut and appealed to director Tom Putnam (”Shafted”) to allow her to stretch some for her role, that she wanted her character to have more definition. The director quickly consulted with then writer Heidi Ferrer (”Dawson’s Creek”) and they both walked over to her trailer with one possible idea. They discovered her on the floor in downard facing dog (a yoga position). They waited silently for a few minutes when Paris finally looked up and announced, “Okay! I’m ready to go. Done with the stretch.” They then shot the scene unchanged which coincidentally involved Paris in various yoga positions. And let me tell you… seeing Paris do her thang was a refreshing break from the ‘ol Weinstein Golden Grope / Oscar Pretender. Her glutes are so tight and she has some serious sex appeal. Paris… call me.

Movie Summary:
Guy meets hot girl but must get her ‘fugly’ best friend a date before the two of them can get down and dirty.
Plus: If you’re a Parisite like my self.. than you can never have enough of her.
Minus: I’d have to kill the guy she’s dating (in the movie) in order to really get enough of her.

3 out of 5 Bopsys. WTD (Wait Til DVD)
Paris Hottie or Nottie.

Perez Hilton and Bopsy

February 15th, 2008 · 7 Comments

PNASTY

So a lot of you know that I grew up in Miami and that Perez Hilton (Mario) went to my sister’s high school. Well, turns out Mario is a HUGE fan of this site and is planning on using our predictions in a lot of his posts every weekend, probably starting next weekend! This could mean huge things for BOPSY and finally put us on top of the BO prediction game. We might even get a little exclusive interview with Perez, if he can find the time since the guy works like a mofo. In any case, big things to come!!!!

Perseopolis Review

February 15th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Here’s a movie about the recent history of Iran that could never have been made in Iran. Come to think of it, it’s also the type of film that could never be made in America: a mostly black-and-white, hand-drawn animated feature about politics. At age 9, Marjane Satrapi saw her entire world changed when the Islamic Revolution hit Tehran. Women were forced to wear the veil and people — including Marjane’s beloved uncle — were being imprisoned and executed. In private, Marjane listens to her educated parents and their opinions on the war and its outcome. It fuels her imagination and she seeks her own types of freedom, including bootleg cassettes of Iron Maiden.
